My friends and family don’t always know when I’m feeling bad

True.

Even though we’d sometimes like them to figure that out, we can’t hold it against them if they don’t.

How can I let people know that I’m feeling bad?

To get help, avoid aggressive behaviours (either verbal or physical) because they’re likely to go over badly. On the other hand, you can express yourself calmly and clearly to let people know that you aren’t doing well. You can also use writing to communicate with your parents, your friends, or an adult you trust, if you feel better doing that.

Listen to other people’s messages

Often the people we know see things that we don’t see clearly because we’re too wrapped up in our problems. That’s why it’s important to pay attention to the messages you’re getting from your family and friends.
